About Me
I began my freelance paralegal journey in 2018 as Precision Paralegal Services, which was recently changed to Monica Muehsam Paralegal Services, LLC. I have been a paralegal since 1990 and have worked in medium and large law firms as well as in house legal departments for large corporations. I knew remote work was the perfect fit for me when COVID hit in 2020 and suddenly we were all working from home. I found I was more productive and absolutely loved getting back that extra ten hours a week I had spent commuting.
Throughout the years of working in the legal field, I have honed my organizational skills to somewhat of an art form. In working for a variety of clients, I have come to realize that expert witnesses can utilize the skills of a paralegal to better manage their workflow. Attorneys have benefitted from the services of paralegals for decades, and so do the best experts. Think of me as the Marie Kondo of the legal world. The are basically one and the same, with the main difference being where the paralegal works. A freelance paralegal can work in your office or at their own office space. A virtual paralegal works predominantly in their own office.
Attorneys utilize freelance paralegals during unusually busy times, such as prior to trials. Instead of hiring a full time employee or using an expensive temp agency, cost conscious firms understand that freelance paralegals are very useful for certain assignments.
